While the future of JDS Development’s Brooklyn project remain in limbo, there is no question about the status of JDS’s CEO, Michael Stern’s Miami projects. They are full steam ahead with Stern closing on a $61 million development site for the upcoming 888 Brickell by Dolce & Gabbana project.
The half-acre site is located at 8th Street and Brickell Avenue and currently houses a seven-story office building that was constructed in 1972. The building is currently home to the Diario Las Américas Spanish-language newspaper. It is unclear where the publication’s offices will move upon the eventual demolition of the construction site.
When completed, the unique condo/hotel convertible tower will reach 1,049 feet into the skyline, having recently received FAA approval to build to this height.
The 250 units will be comprised of rooms and suites that can be combined or separated in order to facilitate rentals and owner-occupants simultaneously. This is a unique and new logistical setup, allowing maximum functionality of the space.
Amenities are set to include six culinary options including a public restaurant on the ground floor, two lobby bars and a private pool club, restaurant and bar. Residents and guests will enjoy pádel, golf simulators, a wellness center with yoga, pilates and spa amenities as well as a lounge, an exercise pool and social lounges.
Developer Michael Stern, Founder and CEO of JDS Development said, “The global real estate spotlight is shining on Miami and Brickell, in particular due to many prominent businesses relocating to the area. This extraordinary, branded condo hotel for Miami will ensure that the demand for world leading, design led spaces with unparalleled views can be fulfilled; we are extremely proud to launch the collaboration with Dolce&Gabbana in this iconic tower. The fashion house’s pursuit of quality and detail in design — together with their ability to create a beautiful world of authentic lifestyle filled with incredible hospitality — guarantees we are embarking on a successful, creative journey for our future visitors, guests, and residents alike.”
It is worth noting that Stern is so confident in Miami’s Financial District, he is simultaneously launching another luxury branded tower nearby. Mercedes Benz Places is currently under construction just blocks away, with residences selling rapidly via private Zoom presentations from around the world.
JDS has yet to announce the groundbreaking of 888 Brickell by Dolce and Gabbana, yet construction is currently underway at their exclusive preview gallery nearby.
Residences at 888 Brickell by Dolce & Gabbana are slated to range from one to four bedrooms and Tier 1 (friends and family) prices are set to range from $1.6 million to $11 million. Penthouse prices and details have not yet been released.
