Edgewater

Edgewater is an up-and-coming waterfront neighborhood in the Greater Downtown Miami area located along Biscayne Bay between Downtown Miami and the famed Design District. Edgewater used to be grouped together with other areas of Greater Downtown such as Wynwood, the Arts’ District, Design District and Midtown, but because of the rise in luxe, new construction high-rise condo buildings, Edgewater has become a place that is now widely independently recognized.

Edgewater has always been a residential community positioned in a great location along the bay in close proximity to the Arts and Entertainment District, financial district of Brickell, Miami Beach and Miami International Airport, but until the last 10 years, Edgewater was comprised of only quaint mid-20th century homes and older mid-rise residential buildings. In the last decade, well-known developers such as the Related Group, Melo Group and Two Roads Development took great interest and saw the huge opportunity that Edgewater offered with its close proximity to the Entertainment District and the beaches, along with the spectacular direct-water views that new high-rise residential towers could offer to future residents. This developer interest quickly turned into a realistic approach to transform this neighborhood into a highly-sought-after place to call home. This on-going transformation has been consistently compared to that of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, especially since we are now seeing New Yorkers flocking to South Florida more than ever.

Dining and Entertainment in Edgewater

Edgewater offers some amazing restaurants and juice bars including Amara at Paraiso which is a crowd favorite and should be no surprise since it is operated by James Beard award-winning Chef Michael Schwartz, the delicious seafood and oyster bar dubbed Mignonette and the energizing juice bar, Pura Vida, just to name a few. But, the best part about living in Edgewater is that you are just a few minutes from all of the trendy bars and restaurants located in famed Wynwood, casual shopping at the Shops at Midtown Miami and the best upscale shopping in the Miami Design District.
