Some Miami Beach natives will remember a time not so long ago, when the gateway to South Beach from the MacArthur Causeway was a blighted mess. To the south, we had the glistening and luxurious condo towers of South of Fifth, then the causeway, and to the north it was just a dilapidated vacant tower that maybe was an old hospital, maybe it was a half-finished construction site but it was definitely ugly.
Today, Terra Group has turned this into a construction site of what will soon be a haven for park enthusiasts and pedestrians who live in the lap of luxury. It will be called Five Park Residences Miami Beach, standing 48 stories above the intersection and tying South Beach together with South of Fifth to the delight of pedestrians and locals alike.
The Canopy Park
Slated for completion in 2024, some of the amenities are already available to the public. The 3-acre Canopy Park was opened late last Spring, activating the once-ignored section of South Beach with activities the entire family can appreciate. The MONSTRUM playground is a Danish-designed playscape that is specifically created to spark imaginative play for both small and bigger kids. There is an orchid installation designed in partnership with Fairchild Botanical Gardens, rotating 600 blooming orchid plants throughout the park grounds. An outdoor gym keeps your body right and the dog park keeps your four-legged family members socialized and exercised. When completed, there will also be a retail pavilion so that visitors can grab treats on-the-go. There is even a bioswale “dry river” so that environmentalists can feel comfortable that every precaution is being taken to preserve our environment and the beauty of South Beach’s newest park, whatever Mother Nature may bestow upon us.
The Pedestrian Bridge
Connecting Canopy Park to South of Fifth for pedestrians is seamless with the new pedestrian bridge. Internationally-acclaimed French artist Daniel Buren was tapped to design a pedestrian bridge that connects the park to South of Fifth over the MacArthur Causeway, allowing visitors to walk to additional restaurants, the Miami Beach Marina, and the SoFi Beachwalk. Residents of Five Park will utilize this bridge in order to access certain amenities including the marina and private beach club.
Five Park Miami Beach
The design of the 546-foot tower is from Bernardo Fort Brescia & Raymond Fort, the Peruvian architects who are also responsible for Brickell City Centre, another groundbreaking and neighborhood-changing project in Miami. Their portfolio also boasts Icon Brickell and the transit-transforming Port of Miami Tunnel.
Aside from the public amenities detailed above, residents of the building will enjoy multiple floors of exclusive amenities. Two pools will be available, one for adults and one that is more family-friendly, both will feature sweeping views of the beach, the Biscayne Bay and the city skyline. A short walk across the pedestrian bridge will take you to the private beach club in South of Fifth. There are also cabanas, lounges, a sunset deck and a meditation deck, offering an all-around resort feel.
In the 26th floor Canopy Club, residents are welcome to enjoy the jewel box bar, terraced lounges, living rooms and dining rooms with a rotating roster of visiting renowned chefs. The wellness lounge is staffed with an in-house personal trainer and wellness coach along with a juice bar and luxe fitness areas with awe-inspiring views, hammam, treatment rooms and a spa. The Canopy Club is orchestrated by a dedicated concierge on the 26th floor.
The residences of Five Park are divided into three sections. The tower residences are 98 condominium residences located on floors 27-45, with the penthouses being located on floors 46-48. Prices of the tower residences range from $3 million-$10 million and there is limited availability. Tomorrow, we will delve into the newly introduced Park Residences on floors 8-25. These are spaciously-designed 1-3 bedroom layouts that are offered between $1.2 million to $2.8 million.
